Endangered Species Day (ESD) is a National Celebration of America's Commitment to Protecting Our Country's Wildlife.
ESD 2008 was held on April 24th and 25th at Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park. Experts introduced area students to new ideas & information about endangered species and wildlife reserves, including:

- Indigenous habitats, plants, and animals that make up the reserve’s food web.
- The role that various organisms play within a specific biome.
- Functions of the natural ecosystem and how these correlate with the surrounding community.
- The relationship between available resources and the number/types of organisms within an ecosystem.
